Perler Beads: A Brief Introduction

Perler beads are a specific brand of fusible beads, which are about 5 mm in size and made of plastic. They are affectionately known as “melty beads” by young children for their ability to be melted together with a clothes iron into fun designs. Typically, these designs are made by placing the beads on a solid plastic pegboard. Alternatively, they can be strung into jewelry, made into key chains or 3D structures, and much more! These tiny beads come in many colors and degrees of opacity, including glow-in-the-dark and internal glitter varieties. The pegboards also come in various shapes and geometric patterns.
